🔧 Tsunoda Gets Backing from Christian Horner
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has assured fans that Yuki Tsunoda will receive the time and support needed to grow more confident in the RB21. Horner emphasized that confidence plays a vital role in Formula 1 performance, and the team remains committed to helping Tsunoda unlock his full potential.
“We’ll give him support and time,” Horner said during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend. “The car is tough to master without confidence, but Yuki Tsunoda is fast. He just needs to piece it all together—and we believe he can.”
🏁 A Mixed Start to Yuki Tsunoda’s Red Bull Career
Since replacing Liam Lawson after the second race of the season, Tsunoda has shown flashes of pace, scoring points in three out of seven Grands Prix. However, he continues to struggle with consistency, particularly in Monaco and Spain, where he failed to reach Q3 in qualifying.
At this stage of the season, Tsunoda sits 15th in the Drivers’ Championship with 10 points, while teammate Max Verstappen has scored a dominant 134 points out of the team’s 144. Despite this contrast, Red Bull remains patient and optimistic about Tsunoda’s growth.
🔎 Focus on Setup and Confidence
Tsunoda’s performance, according to Horner, heavily depends on finding the right car setup. The team aims to refine that setup to help Tsunoda feel at ease behind the wheel.
“Confidence is everything,” Horner reiterated. “We’ve seen flashes of what he can do. Now, it’s about consistency. We’re confident he’ll get there.”
🔄 YUKI TSUNODA:, Future Driver Options: No Rush
Naturally, questions about Yuki Tsunoda’s future have emerged, especially with talents like Isack Hadjar performing strongly in Racing Bulls. However, Horner made it clear that Red Bull won’t rush any decisions about driver lineups.
“It’s still early days,” Horner said. “Yuki has already shown he can reach Q3 and score points—even from the pit lane. Yes, he’s made a few mistakes, but he’s learning. We’ve got time. No decisions need to be made right now.”
